National Services for Transgender or Questioning FTM’s, MTF’s, Parents and Partners

JAMES WICKERT: (916) 236-8108

Welcome! I am here to support and assist you with gaining acceptance and understanding while you are on the path of transitioning. I work with individual who are considering a transition from female-to-male, or male to female. I also help those who are in the process of transitioning, or someone whose life is being affected by a loved one who is transitioning, such as a parent or partner. In this context the word “transitioning” means that a person is changing his or her gender from one form into another one.  Some people may also chose to be labeled as ‘gender-variant’ or ‘gender-queer,’ terminology which is simply different forms of gender expression. I will help you locate resources no matter where you live and can get you a letter to start hormones, name changes, etc. if you so choose this path.

My passion is to empower people who are working through transition issues whether it be male-to-female individuals, female-to-male identified people, families, parents, children, or partners. My work is rewarded when you are able to become your authentic self or have a better understanding of what you and your loved one may be experiencing as a result of this process. I have worked with the transgender community and parents and partners, for over a decade now in many different capacities. As well as assisting you on this journey I have been in transition myself for over fifteen years and am FTM identified. I bring empathy and compassion into my work with you.  This is one of the most important journeys you will take in your lifetime. As equally important is the family member who usually need their own processing tools and support system while their loved one considers (or are) transitioning.

Schedule a free, 15 minute, one-on-one consultation to find out if I am the right fit for you. Learn the techniques and tools you need to cope with transition or your loved one’s transition day to day.  You don’t have to do this alone!

Contact me and I’ll try to aim you in the right direction!

Wow, this is such a comprehensive site. I thought I was fairly informed about transgender topics but discovered I had much to learn. Thank you for putting up such a helpful resource for the transgender community! You offer great support with this material and your coaching services.

Hi, James. I am not looking for a coaching session, but I just read your blog and wanted to express my gratitude to you for what you do to help others. I am Chris Hosford’s cousin, and I saw this link to your blog on Christina’s Facebook. I know we aren’t really family, but we kinda are. I can only imagine what it would feel like to be estranged from members of my family, so I just want you to know that you have some extended family by marriage here in rural north Georgia (my husband, five children, and me) who love you just for being you. I admire your courage and willingness to embark on a journey full of
obstacles simply because living honestly is more important than living comfortably. I pray that if any of my children discover that they are gay or transgendered, that they will be as brave as you.

Wow! Thank you for your very kind and sincere words! I only hope I can reach those who need help, assistance or guidance with what I have learned both as a transman, someone who has worked with the LGBTQ community, and someone who has a Master’s in Social Work. Thank you for our wonderful support and acceptance of our community!

I’m thankful that I came across this website. James has been a great help to me, and I strongly recommend, especially for those who may have limited access to transgender-related care where they live, or feel more at ease discussing their concerns within the comfort of their home.
