JAMES WICKERT: (916) 236-8108

Welcome! No matter where you live I am here to support and assist you with gaining acceptance and understanding of yourself. I will find you resources no matter where you live and can assist you with letters and guidance on how to go about your own personal style of transitioning. I will also help you to figure out if you want to start hormones and where you can find someone in your area to get you started; if you want any surgeriesand how they may affect your body; or I can simply help guide you towards your own, unique style of identifying in the World. Additionally, I am available to assist your loved ones make sense of it all. In many instances the people that are closest to you may grapple with questions, understanding of the importance of why you need to transition, and acceptance it all. As mentioned: I coach, guide, and provide resources and letters to individuals who are considering a transition from female-to-male or male-to-female, questioning, or identify as ‘other.’

My passion is to empower the transgender, queer, and leather communities, as well as their families or partners. As well as being a coach, I identify as ‘female-to-male,’ and hold a Master’s in Social Work. I have spent almost two decades now counseling and assisting others in the LGBTQ and Queer communities.

I bring a deep understanding and a strong sense of insight into my work with you. I am deeply rewarded when you are able to recognize and empower your authentic self and when you have a better understanding of what you and your loved ones may be experiencing. With our loved ones, people may find that conflict resolution, communication techniques, and assistance are paramount and they themselves usually would like some type of support. I will assist you and/or your loved ones on how to work through these very sensitive issues that occur when someone close to them transitions.

Schedule a free, 15 minute, one-on-one consultation to find out if I am the right fit for you. Learn the techniques and tools you need to cope with transitioning. You don’t have to do this alone!

In the above context regarding the word “transitioning” I am referring to the fact that a person is changing his or her gender identity from one form into another one. Some people may also chose to be labeled as ‘gender-variant’ or ‘gender-queer,’ terminology which is simply different forms of gender expression. I will help you locate resources no matter where you live and can get you a letter to start hormones, name changes, etc. if this path is the right on for you.

Wow, this is such a comprehensive site. I thought I was fairly informed about transgender topics but discovered I had much to learn. Thank you for putting up such a helpful resource for the transgender community! You offer great support with this material and your coaching services.

Hi, James. I am not looking for a coaching session, but I just read your blog and wanted to express my gratitude to you for what you do to help others. I am Chris Hosford’s cousin, and I saw this link to your blog on Christina’s Facebook. I know we aren’t really family, but we kinda are. I can only imagine what it would feel like to be estranged from members of my family, so I just want you to know that you have some extended family by marriage here in rural north Georgia (my husband, five children, and me) who love you just for being you. I admire your courage and willingness to embark on a journey full of
obstacles simply because living honestly is more important than living comfortably. I pray that if any of my children discover that they are gay or transgendered, that they will be as brave as you.

Wow! Thank you for your very kind and sincere words! I only hope I can reach those who need help, assistance or guidance with what I have learned both as a transman, someone who has worked with the LGBTQ community, and someone who has a Master’s in Social Work. Thank you for our wonderful support and acceptance of our community!
